Who doesn’t love Christmas?!? Although, it’s kind of hard to get in the spirit when you are stuck at college with hopes of just getting home for the holidays. So, I have compiled a list of FIFTY WAYS to get in the Christmas Spirit!

  1. Put up a little tree including twinkly lights
  2. My roommates and I hung stockings last year
  3. Lots of twinkly lights
  4. If able, make Christmas cookies
  5. Or just buy them
  6. Hot cocoa
  7. Add some candy canes in it
  8. Make chocolate spoons with candy canes
  9. Christmas Music, LOTS OF CHRISTMAS MUSIC
  10. ABC Family 25 days of Christmas (I get their text message updates)
  11. Start Christmas Shopping
  12. Wrap the Christmas Presents bought
  13. Low on money, DIY some cute presents
  14. Write a letter to Santa!
  15. Go visit some Christmas lights/ decorations, maybe take a walk downtown
  16. See if your town does a Christmas Tree lighting or something Christmasy
  17. Read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” before bed
  18. Do a Secret Santa
  19. Make Christmas Cards
  20. DIY some Christmas Ornaments
  21. Go Christmas Caroling in your dorm building or neighborhood
  22. Ugly Sweater Party?
  23. Go visit a Christmas Tree farm
  24. Take “Family” Christmas Card pictures with your friends
  25. Ice Skating!
  26. Watch Frozen
  27. Do you want to build a snowman?
  28. Make a countdown!
  29. DIY an advent calendar
  30. OR just go buy one
  31. Make a Christmas List!
  32. Make some presents or little gift bags for your friends!
  33. Find the Christmas Events happening on your campus! (I know at New Haven’s there is Phi Sig’s ornament making coming up!)
  34. Elf on the shelf with your roommates?
  35. Watch Elf (as many times as possible)
  36. Find weird Christmas movies on Netflix and watch all of them!
  37. Make a scrapbook of prior Christmases
  38. Plan out everything you’ll be getting everyone!
  39. Plan out Christmas dinner (In my case, I will be cooking)
  40. Decorate your door with wrapping paper
  41. Put ornaments in your window
  42. Make a cardboard Christmas Tree
  43. Go for a hike and collect fun Christmassy things
  44. Make a homemade wreath
  45. Go to Starbucks and get a peppermint mocha in a red cup
  46. Or get anything in a red cup
  47. Make a Christmas card on Shutterfly or TinyPrints
  48. Find some Christmas games online (Try Addicting Games .com)
  49. Buy a candle (or wax melter smelling thing) with a fun Christmassy sent (I suggest Yankee Candle Sugar Cookie)
  50. Just think about going home to spend time with your family, pets, friends and all the fun stuff you can do at home!
