Working A Winery

Hello, Hello!

This weekend I spent in Mystic, CT, working at a wine festival. Over at Stonington Vineyards, they had their yearly wine festival featuring wine tastings, live music and of course, you can purchase their wines!

I spent the weekend working the tasting tent where the guests had the option to do a full tasting of their white wines. They had a Sheer Chardonnay, Estate Chardonnay, Riesling, Seaport White and Triad Rose! It was fun learning everyone’s opinions on the different wines and watching how everyone tries them! Some people looked, swirled, smelled and tasted. Others just dropped it down the hatch and moved on to the next! I did learn a thing or two about wine, which was amazing on its own!

During our breaks, we got to explore the event! I got to try a gyro and boy, was it amazing! The food truck it was from was “fueled by feta” and it was one of the best things I have tried in a long time. I also got to try twisted taters, which were similar to fried potato chips, but at the same time completely different!

The second day, we stopped at B.F. Clyde’s Cider Mill before the event. I got a hot apple cider and an apple cider donut! I also grabbed a half gallon of cider to bring back to campus. It was definitely a smart purchase.

We helped set up, made flower arrangements for the tables, picked up garbage, did wine tastings and broke down the event. They were nice enough to get us some yummy treats to finish off the event afterward. Overall, the event seemed to be a huge success and I had an amazing time there! I hope to get the chance to do this again! #winos #SVHarvestFest2016
