Productivity before bed - Always Sunkissed

6 Ways to be Productive Before Bed

Some people are more productive in the mornings and others, nighttime. I am far from a morning person, but either way, I believe that productivity is an all day affair. Being productive before bed is actually a huge way in getting yourself set up for success the next day. Productivity can be a scary word for some, especially in the sentence involving the word “bed”, but this isn’t scary, it is actually a way to get the most out of every day and get yourself ready for the next. Read More »

How I Use My Passion Planner

So we are in October and I think a lot of us are getting into the groove, if not already burning out. With it starting to actually feel like Fall and sweaters about to be back in fashion, it’s time I shared with you some secrets I’ve learned throughout this semester.

I have purchased the Passion Planner and I am nothing short of in love! It has all the time slots I need, the layout is everything I want, it has two types of a to-do list and space for “infinite possibility”. One other thing that I love about this, is all the positivity it brings. It has a daily focus for each day, weekly focus and most importantly, a space to list all the good things that happened that week.

This planner helps you to set goals and to figure out your passions and achieve them. This is though their “Passion Roadmap” which is the basis of this entire planner. I think this semester, this is something that I really need. It has room to be happy, evaluate my life and figure out my priorities.

While I have loved some of my other planners in the past, I think this one was the best for me. This semester has been a hard one for me. I hate to admit that I’ve probably had about one breakdown a week, but I get through it and I do better. I try harder and tell myself why I chose to do these things. You can probably tell that I haven’t been my best, as I haven’t been able to get as much content out as I have in the past. I did choose to do too much this semester, I will admit that. BUT, I am figuring out how to handle it all. I AM doing it and it WILL pay off at the end.

Also peep their free handout right here! Just in case you want to give it a spin before you purchase!

Until next time,

What To Do When the “Doing Too Much” Hits You… Hard

So yesterday, the “what am I doing with my life”, “I don’t have time to do anything” and the “I need to get out” feeling hit me and when I say it hit me, it hit me hard. As my professor listed off all the things due in “one month” as he said and gave us a date that is less than one month away, I started to have a panic attack of, I can barely due what I have right now. So I went to my next class, had another anxiety attack and left the school immediately. I emailed my professors and got the f*** out of there! (note: I have never missed any of these classes before and I never skip classes, this was 100% necessary for me). So in case you pull a me, I want to help you because this was not easy and it still is not as I sit here typing this.

  1. Breathe. Escape the situation and breathe. This is one of the most important parts because sometimes taking deep breaths is the only thing to keep you from drowning.
  2. Do something you enjoy that will distract you. I went to Trader Joes and bought some food I needed and then went to the Starbucks I work at and talked to some of my favorite people! This was something I really needed.
  3. Sit down and be productive. I went home after my distraction and got some of my homework done. This is also a way for me to make up for missing class, but I wasn’t rushing or stressing over anything, I just sat down and did it, took some breaks and didn’t stress out over it.
  4. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. This one is huge, sometimes you need to just vent, or get away, or even just a hug. Ask for someone because it will be okay and they can help make it okay. Sometimes knowing the right person to ask can be hard, but don’t ever go at things alone. That will only hurt you in the long run.
  5. Find a reason to smile. There is always a reason, whether you like it or not. One reason I love my Passion Planner is that every week their is a place for me to write the good things that happen every week.

I think a huge thing is that no matter how down you are, you have to remember that there is always up. You can always catch up and things will always get better! Take a breath and keep going. Remember, without air you will drown and you can’t move forward if all you do is tread water.

What You Should Never Leave Your Internship Without…

Today is the last day of my internship at Odonnell Company and it is both a bittersweet day. I have spent my whole summer here and I loved everyone I came across in this experience and I have learned enough information to convince me that I like my major and I am on the right path. But, there are a few things that I have learned not to leave without that isn’t just a goodbye!

Never leave without a Letter of Recommendation from your Internship Supervisor.

This one is very important. This is the person you directly were in contact with, had to sign paperwork and basically lead you through the journey that was your internship, I also enjoy this because it helps to show myself that I actually did something instead of just sitting at my desk waiting for work. Like I actually did something useful and they thought it was good! Read More »

What is an Instagram Aesthetic & Why Do You Need One

So, the other day, I was doing my usual thing helping my sister with her Instagram. We were picking a filter and trying to decide on a caption, the usual steps we all need feedback on in order to post a successful Instagram post that brings in more likes than your last post {hopefully}. When asked which filter, I picked one and said “it goes with your aesthetic”. After a few texts describing what an aesthetic was, my sister was astonished that so much thought went into one post. I wish I had seen her face when I got into timing and how often you really should be posting, I’m picturing something with a mouth drop and a “you’re shitting me” kind of feel.Read More »

How I Organize My Planner {The Happy Planner}

So my planner is a good representation of my life; It is a hot mess. I do really enjoy the planner that I have though, it is The Happy Planner by Create 365. It is set up in columns and has a weekly notes section and a monthly calendar with some fun stuff for each month. One of the best parts about my planner is that you can buy it at Michaels and Michaels has a lot of coupons, so hello 50% off.

Now, I have taken my daily column for Monday-Sunday and changed it a little bit. It has three rows in each column and those are suppose to be for Morning, Afternoon and Night. I do morning and night and then use the bottom column for my daily to-do list. My roommate has also added to give her my daily snuggles hahah!

For the months section, it’s pretty simple! I add specific events for my sorority and due dates, as shown!

One of my favorite little things that this specific planner has, is the beginning of the month section. It has a “Currently, this month” section. I really like this because if you didn’t notice before, I had started doing some currently posts on my blog, so that really helps me plan for that!

Overall, the main tool I use for planning, are my colored pens! I use Paper mate and Sharpie pens.

I am also looking into getting a separate notebook to insert into my planner that is daily to do that has more space for my daily/ weekly to-dos. They have a super cute one at Michaels that I would be able to use a 50% off coupon for! Got to love those coupons.

Planner Reviews

Hello lovely people, with this semester starting to get in the swing, I decided to get myself a new planner. My problem with this year, I had a strict budget of next to nothing.

Screen Shot 2016-09-06 at 3.54.12 PM.png

The planner I currently have is the Happy Planner! It is a nice planner with tons of options, even a 12 month one where you fill in and design yourself. I chose a different option, to use their design. I think it is super cute and vibrant to kind of ring in the good vibes. While the Happy Planner is not my #1 choice, I did have a Micheal’s 50% coupon so the price was just right! {UPDATED: Here is my how-to on how to organize it}

Some of my other choices!

{The Erin Condren Life Planner}

This is the most expensive and one of the best. I love the column layout with daily to-do. The design is sleek and inviting. The price is not my favorite. You can look and buy them here.

{The Plum Paper Planner}

This was what I almost bought instead. It has some great features including add-ons like a Blog Planner section. It is nice because you can basically build your perfect planner. The cover designs aren’t exactly my favorite, but oh well. The price is still at about $40 depends on how you build it/ which add-on’s you pick. Click here to check it out!

{The Day Designer}

This one is actually amazing. I wish I could plan out my life to the key every day, but unfortunately, I’m a weekly layout kind of gal. If you need every day to be separate and have a lot to do and plan, this planner is defiantly for you. A fellow blogger has a post about it here!
